Taiwan & Hong Kong Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive Taipei

Upon arrival at Taipei Taoyuan International Airport, you will be transferred to the hotel for rest and relaxation.

Day 2

TAIPEI > SUN MOON LAKE

Take a morning drive to Sun Moon Lake, located in the middle of Taiwan and situated 762 meters above sea level in the lofty mountains of Central Taiwan.

The tour will stop at the Holy Monk Shrine, Ci En Pagoda, as well as the famous Wenwu Temple (also known as Literature-Warrior Temple), which was dedicated to Confucius as Master of Pen and Kuan Ti as Master of Sword.

After touring around Sun Moon Lake, check into the hotel to either rest or to enjoy a natural hot spring at the hotel. You can also enjoy the walking trails, biking, hiking or boating at the lake.

Day 3

SUN MOON LAKE > KAOHSIUNG

Pass by the enchantingly old Jiji Railway Station on the drive to Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Monastery: the most famous Buddhist sacred place of southern Taiwan. Here you will learn about Buddhism during the monastery walking tour to visit Buddha Memorial Center and communicate with some of the monks or nuns during the visit. There will be opportunity to taste Buddhist vegetarian lunch (at your own cost).

Afterwards, we will drive to Kaohsiung, Taiwan’s second largest city. The day concludes at Lover River and the Liuhe Night Market.

Day 4

KAOHSIUNG > KENTING > TAITUNG

Morning tour to Kenting National Park, located at Taiwan’s southern tip and the 37 miles of coral-rimmed shoreline along three sides of the park provide its main attractions.

Stops will be made at Eluanbi lighthouse, Maobitou coastal scenic area and Longpan Park.

Afterward we will drive to Taitung via the Southern Link Highway. You will have the rest of the day open to partake in leisure or enjoy a natural hotel spring at the hotel.

Day 5

TAITUNG > TAROKO

After breakfast, it will be an exciting East Coast Tour. The East Coast National Scenic Area, known as “Taiwan’s last unspoiled land”, stretches 170 kilometers down the east coast of the island. Weathering, erosion and accumulation have created the Shitiping (Stone Steps), where you can also visit the marble factory and showroom.

In the late afternoon, we will proceed to Hualien for an overnight stay at Taroko National Park.

Day 6

TAROKO > TAIPEI

After breakfast, we will make a visit to Taroko National Park. Taroko Gorge is an exceptionally beautiful, narrow raving created by the Liwu river which has cut deep into the mountains of solid marble. A road carved into sheer walls of rock rewinding its way past forested peaks and cliffs towering thousands of feet above it, while hundreds of feel below a river roars past gigantic marble boulders.

Passing by Tunnel of Nine Turns, Ci Mu Bridge, stops will be made at Swallow Grotto, and Changchun Temple (Eternal Spring Shrine).

We will then drive back to Taipei with a stop at Cingshui Cliff, drive through Syue-Shan Long Tunnel to arrive at evening time.

Day 7

TAIPEI > HONG KONG

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Hong Kong. Upon arrival, you’ll be met and transferred to hotel.

For the rest of the day, enjoy your own leisure in this city known as the Pearl of the East: Hong Kong.

Day 8

HONG KONG

This morning will be a sightseeing tour of Hong Kong Island with visits to Victoria Peak to see the famous view of Hong Kong.

Then visit the Repulse Bay to see the two statues of the Goddesses Tin Hau (Queen of Heaven and Goddess of all seafarers).

Continue onto Aberdeen, where you’ll get to see a community of people living on boats as well as several floating restaurants. A trip down to harbor in a sampan is recommended (optional on own cost).

The afternoon is free for your own shopping.

Day 9

HONG KONG

Today, take a full day tour to the Lantau Island, which is almost twice the size of Hong Kong Island. Through the fast and scenic drive along the expressway and the Tsing Ma Bridge soon takes you to this unspoiled island.

Visit the world’s tallest, outdoor, seated bronze Buddha statue at Po Lin Monastery and enjoy a great vegetarian meal.

Explore Tai O, a quaint fishing village where the houses are on stills.

The tour ends with a spectacular ride aboard the Skyrail cable car offering stunning views going down to Tung Chung.

Day 10

DEPART HONG KONG

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport and take your flight back home.
