Sri Lanka Itinerary

Day 1

ARRIVE at COLOMBO

Your flight lands at Colombo International Airport. You’ll be welcomed by our guide and transferred to the hotel for rest and relaxation.

Day 2

COLOMBO > AHUNGALLa

In the morning leave for Ahungalla. On the way, you will come across a small town called Balapitiya where you will take a boat trip on the Madu River. There are 64 islands scattered along the Madu River. Visit Cinnamon Island, locally known as “Kurundu Doowa,” and learn about how Sri Lanka is the largest producer of pure cinnamon in the world.

Day 3

AHUNGALLa > YALA

Set on a morning tour of the Galle Fort and its fortifications. This is a city that exudes an essence with a perfect blend of past and present.

Afterwards, leave for Yala / Tissamaharama. Ceylon’s jungles are among the world’s prettiest. Spend your afternoon here on a guided game drive exploring the dynamic wildlife and the most luxuriant plant life in Yala National Park, the ideal place for an opportunity to spot a leopard.

Day 4

YALO > NUWARA ELIYA

In the morning leave for Hill Country. En route, make a stop to witness the beautiful sceneries from Ella Gap and the picturesque waterfalls.

Continue the journey to Nuwara Eliya. Apart from the breathtaking sceneries of the tea country and picturesque waterfalls, the train ride is a chance for you to mingle with the local people (if available).

Day 5

NUWARA ELIYA

In the morning leave for Horton Plains and World’s End. This park holds great importance due to the rich and unique biodiversity and being a catchment area feeding some of the main rivers of Sri Lanka. It is also known to be a "super biodiversity hotspot."

A couple of kilometers into the park you will find World's End: an abrupt cliff with the land plummeting straight down for about 900m.

Later, visit a tea plantation and factory. Here you will enjoy an educational tea experience and be able to purchase the best quality Sri Lankan tea.

Day 6

NUWARA ELIYA > KANDY

Leave to Kandy in the morning. The style and character of the Sri Lankan civilization at the time is well articulated in the heart of the city itself, with its lake, its temples (including the Temple of the Tooth Relic), and with it well-preserved ruins of the royal palaces.

On your way, visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. These stunning gardens were once reserved exclusively for Kandyan royalty.

Day 7

KANDY

Take a full day for leisure to relax and explore the city of Kandy (by Tuk Tuk) and the local bazaar at your own pace.

Around late afternoon, saunter around Kandy Lake— the atmosphere alone will intrigue you to spend more than a few moments here.

In the evening, visit the Temple of Tooth: a deeply significant Buddhist site that contains a tooth of Buddha collected from his funeral pyre, which draws thousands of pilgrims from across the world every year.

Day 8

KANDY > SIGIRIYA

Leave for Sigiriya in the morning.

In the afternoon, set on an exclusive private Jeep safari at the Minneriya (or Kaudulla) National Park to witness elephants gathering.

Day 9

SIGIRIYA

At the first flush of morning, climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress (Lion’s Rock), one of the most extraordinary artistic complexes.

By afternoon, enjoy a sightseeing tour of the Medieval Capital City of Polonnaruwa. After the demise of the ancient capital Anuradhapura, it became the next historic capital of Sri Lanka.

Day 10

SIGIRIYA

In the morning, you can bike or walk through Augandawa Village and visit the local temple and evoke blessings from a priest. Visit a villager’s house and enjoy a warm herbal drink or a king coconut. Ride through the village passing paddy fields and Chena cultivations.

Day 11

SIGIRIYA > CHILAW

Leave for Chilaw in the morning. It is a big town in Puttalam District, North Western Province, Sri Lanka. There is a saying in Sri Lanka that Chilaw is well known for the three 'C's': Crabs, Coconuts and Coreas. (The Corea’s were a family significant to Chilaw history.)

The rest of the day will be free for leisure.

day 12

CHILAW

Take a full day for leisure by enjoying the sun and sand at the beach. The beach is calm and tranquil allowing you to lay back in complete relaxation or take a dip.

day 13

DEPART COLOMBO

In the morning leave for the Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) for your flight back home.
